About P.A.C.E.
Pegasus Adult and Community Education (PACE) is a network of providers in the Eastern Suburbs of Otautahi (Christchurch), committed to providing responsive, quality adult and community education for our communities.
PACE aims to do this by:
- Excellent communication with our communities and students regarding courses / programmes and news.
- The best possible quality professional adult tutoring and facilitation
- Supporting and promoting local community groups with TEC funding issues, sharing resources where appropriate and supporting initiatives that are associated with adult and community education for the benefit of our communities
- Better consultation and networking with our communities.
- Being responsive to requests from our communities.
PACE was formed at the beginning of 2005 from North East Schools Adult and Community Education. This predecessor was a successful networking tool in the days prior to ACE funding being administered by the Tertiary Education Commission. As the four main providers of adult and community education in the Eastern suburbs we are in contact with over 4000 students and know that there are many more organisations and people that are involved with ACE in our area.
Adult & Community Education is now funded by the Tertiary Education Commission, rather than the Ministry of Education, and the activities and provision of Adult and Community Education is a necessary and integral part of the new Tertiary Education system.
The PACE vision is wider than just the four high schools and we encourage other providers in the Eastern suburbs of Christchurch to be involved, make use of our resources and training for tutors and join with us to achieve our main objective of providing responsive, quality adult and community education for our communities.
